Method

  1. Pat the tofu dry and cube it; cut the vegetables into thin evenly sized pieces.
  2. Heat a pan and brown the tofu for 5–6 minutes; transfer it to a plate.
  3. Stir-fry the vegetables for 5–7 minutes until just crisp-tender, then add the sauce for 1 minute.
  4. Return the tofu to the pan, toss thoroughly and serve at once.
  5. Before serving, check: Let the pan warm up first. Leave the cubes undisturbed for the first few minutes so a golden crust can form.

Beginner-friendly tips

Read these three practical tips before cooking. Check how the food looks and feels, not just the clock.

  • Pat tofu thoroughly dry before cooking. Wet tofu steams in the pan instead of browning.
  • Let the pan warm up first. Leave the cubes undisturbed for the first few minutes so a golden crust can form.
  • If the sauce tastes too salty or gets thick, add a splash of water. Taste tofu and vegetables together before final seasoning.

Tip

Adjust seasonings to taste and check ingredients are fully cooked before serving.
